You may be able to remove some negative reviews, but for those that remain, the best course of action is to first respond appropriately, as outlined above, then surround it with glowing reviews about how amazing your business is. Google doesn’t prohibit asking for reviews, but their guidelines request that you ‘Don’t discourage or prohibit negative reviews or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers.’ This references ‘review-gating’, the process of filtering candidates before asking them to leave you a review. So for Google, asking customers for feedback is OK in general, as long as you don’t filter the feedback you get.
